Kalibra Assessments

We could all do more to look, feel and move better but knowing what is going to make a meaningful difference too often feels like guesswork. We’re changing that.

At Kalibra, we provide the most complete, data-powered evaluation of your current health – starting with bloodwork and body composition and bringing it together with assessments across other key factors that make up your total well-being.

We offer two different interactive experiences, you will get:

Essentials Assessment

  • Bloodwork analysis (bio-evaluation) including identification of an extensive series of biomarkers across key body functions. You can learn more about why this is important by reading our blog.

Advanced Assessment

  • Bloodwork analysis along with,

  • A DEXA body composition scan including subcutaneous fat, visceral fat and bone mineral density, in addition to Bloodwork analysis

First things first

When it comes to our health, biochemistry is everything. All bodily functions are determined by it, and our behaviours can impact its effectiveness, whether positively or negatively. We will look at what is happening inside your body and identify areas requiring a bit of a tune-up. We will look at a complete set of biomarkers. Then our AI-led analytics team will absorb your results in depth, breaking down how each element affects your total health and giving you actionable steps to improve it.

Biomarkers we track

  • Haematology Profile (Full Blood Count MPV & RDW, Peripheral Blood Film, ESR)

  • Diabetic Profile (HBA1C, Glucose - fasting)

  • Kidney Function (Urea, Creatinine, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Bicarbonate, eGFR)

  • Anaemia Profile (Vitamin B12, Folate, Ferritin, Magnesium - serum, Iron, % Iron Saturation, Iron Binding Capacity - total

  • Hormonal Profile (Estradiol, Testosterone, DHEA, Insulin, Cortisol)

  • Bone & Joint Profile (Calcium, Phosphate, Uric Acid, Vitamin D)

  • Cardiac Profile (Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL-Cholesterol, LDL-Cholesterol, Cholesterol/HDL Ratio, Hs-Reactive Protein, CK, Homocysteine)

  • Liver Profile (Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin, A/G Ratio, Total Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase, SGOT (AST), SGPT (ALT), Gamma GT)

  • Thyroid Profile (FT4, FT3, T3, TSH)

DEXA scan (Advanced)

DEXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scans are highly accurate in measuring bone density, body composition, and fat distribution. The scans are non-invasive and involve minimal radiation exposure, making them a safe diagnostic tool for routine screenings. The benefits of regular scanning are:

  • Body composition assessment: DEXA scans provide detailed information about body composition, including fat mass, lean mass, bone density and perhaps most importantly, visceral fat levels. This is useful for assessing overall health and guiding personalised fitness and nutrition plans.

  • Body fat distribution: differentiating between visceral fat and subcutaneous fat (fat located just beneath the skin) is an important insight into overall organ and metabolic health. Visceral fat, also known as intra-abdominal fat, is the fat that surrounds vital organs such as the liver, pancreas, and intestines. High levels of visceral fat have been strongly linked to an increased risk of various health problems, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Measuring visceral fat helps assess an individual's risk for these conditions.

  • Bone density: DEXA scans are the gold standard for diagnosing osteoporosis, a condition characterised by low bone density and increased susceptibility to fractures. By measuring bone mineral density (BMD), DEXA scans can detect osteoporosis early, when interventions can be initiated to prevent further bone loss and reduce the risk of fractures.
